Gov Abdulrazaq, Associates Celebrate Kwara Speaker on 39th Birthday
Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State, along with other dignitaries and associates of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, have commended the legislator for his patriotic leadership.
According to a news report from Nigerian Tribune, the governor, in his congratulatory message for the Speaker's 39th birthday, praised Danladi-Salihu for his effective management of legislative affairs and public interest issues.
Additionally, the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), in a press statement signed by its national publicity secretary, Mallam Nurudeen Ibrahim, described the Speaker as a hardworking, humble, and outstanding parliamentarian worthy of celebration.
The umbrella body of Ilorin Emirate indigenes urged Danladi-Salihu to continue to serve the people of the state and humanity with patriotism and selflessness, saying that the sky would be his starting point.
Other well-wishers include the Minister of State for Youths Development, Hon. Ayodele Olawande, National Assembly members from Kwara state, political office holders, party chieftains, netizens among others, who all hailed the Speaker's humility, bridge-building ability and sense of purpose.
The celebration was also marked by a special prayer session for the celebrant in absentia, at the Speaker's lodge mosque, Ilorin. The committee of friends equally donated food items to the orphanage as part of the celebration.
The events were aimed to honour Danladi-Salihu's commitment to public service and his dedication to the welfare of the people.
The prayer session was led by Alfa Taiye and Kehinde Agbaji and Imam Ajibesin, who prayed for Danladi-Salihu's continued wisdom, strength, and guidance in his leadership role.
The procession also prayed for Governor Abdulrazaq's continued success and Allah's guidance to drive the wheel of progress of the state.
Following the prayer session, the group visited an orphanage, where they donated food items and spent time with the children.
The team, led by a former Commissioner for Youths and Adviser to Governor Abdulrazaq on Girl Child, Ms. Joana Kolo, said the gesture was a reflection of the charitable attributes of the celebrant.
“We have come with this token in appreciation and celebration of our brother, for God to grant his heart desires, long life and prosperity. We care for these innocent souls and we have faith in God to answer prayers made by them in happy moods.”
The officer in charge of the orphanage, Mrs Yusuf, on behalf of the children, appreciated the gesture and prayed for the Speaker to have a long life and continued prosperity. The children also prayed for the continued success of the Speaker and Kwara state governor.
