Nigeria Customs Seize 64 Drums of Petrol
According to a report from Daily Trust, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced the interception of 64 drums containing Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, in the Bokoro area, a border town situated in Baruten LGA of Kwara State.
The Controller of NSC for the region, Faith Matthew Ojeifo, made this revelation during a public relations conference organised by the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) in Il?rin.
The conference, themed "Advancing Security in Nigeria within Social Context: Students Safety Matters", was held to honour the state's Commissioner of Police, Mr Victor Olaiya.
Represented by the command's spokesperson, Zakari Chado, the controller clarified that the seizure occurred during a period when citizens were grappling with obtaining the commodity at reasonable prices.
Also speaking, CP Olaiya said security and development were inseparable because “no investors would be willing to invest in an atmosphere laced with fear and anxiety.”
