NPFL: How Kwara United caged Akwa United in Eket – Coach Dogo
Kwara United technical adviser, Kabiru Dogo, has revealed that former Akwa United in his team gave him an insight on how to Saturday's game.
The Harmony Boys held their hosts to a 1-1 draw in the encounter played at the Eket Township Stadium.
The trio of Adewale Adeyinka, Sodiq Yusuf and Abbey Benson featured for the Promise Keepers in the past before pitching tent with Kwara United this season.
Yusuf netted a screamer towards the end of the first half to cancel out Akwa United's early-minute goal.
Dogo also commended the players for their resilience throughout the game.
“I want to commend my players and my goalkeeper for fighting hard to secure a point in the game,” he told Kwara United media.
“The Akwa United former players gave us hope and they also made us feel at home because they gave us huge insight about the team.
“They know the team, the environment and how each player played their games; they really helped us to success in this game.”
Kwara United moved up to 10th position following the result.
