Coach of Nigerian Premier League side Kwara United, Samson Unuanel has expressed joy over the convincing performance of NPL players in the Super Eagles after they forced Catalonia to a one all draw on Wednesday in an international friendly match.

Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi paraded seven NPL players on the line-up in the encounter.

Unuanel said though the Nigerian side was jittery in the beginning, the Coach Stephen Keshi handled team rose up to the challenge after conceding a goal, and as a result came from behind to pull a draw.

-Nigerian Premier League players played against some of the best players in the world, like Gerard Pique, Xavi and the rest, and they did not disappoint, he told futaa.com

-They came from a goal down to get a decent result against a team like Catalonia.

-This shows that the NPL players are matured and can stand any opposition in the world.

So proud

The former Super Falcons assistant coach said he is very proud of the Nigerian side, who according to him, showed class, and what to expect at the nations cup.

-I am very proud of the team Keshi is building, they have showed us what to look out for at the nations cup.

The 2013 AFCON will kick off on the 19th of this month in South Africa, with Nigeria in group C alongside defending champions Zambia, Ethiopia and Burkina Faso.
