Hajj 2024: Kwara Gets 3, 419 Slots
The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has revealed that the state “got 3,419 slots for the 2024 Hajj exercise.”
The executive secretary of the board, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, who disclosed that while speaking with our correspondent, said the registration would be done online.
Abdulsalam had earlier announced the commencement of registration “in compliance with the approval by the Kwara State government for the flag-off of the exercise.”
He advised all the intending pilgrims from the state to pay N3.5 million as the first deposit for the Hajj fare.
He however said the balance of N1 million should be paid before the end of November in line with the directive from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.
The executive secretary said NAHCON had recently told intending pilgrims for next year's Hajj to deposit a minimum of N4.5 million due to the current floating rate of the naira against the dollar.
He explained that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq however directed the board to start collecting the sum of N3.5 million only through a bank draft due to the present situation of the Nigerian economy.
He appealed to intending pilgrims across the state and non-Kwarans, who are willing to perform the 2024 Hajj with the board for early preparation.
