The Kwara State Commissioner for Environment and Forestry, Mr. Samuel Olasehinde Bamisaye has canvassed for private sector involvement in waste management in the state.

The Commissioner who made the remarks during a courtesy visit to the correspondents' chapel office, Ilorin said, the state government was prepared to collaborate with the organised private sector in addressing the adverse effects of climate change in the state.

Bamisaiye called on the people to join the state in its efforts to maintain a hygienic environment, stressing that private investment in waste management and environmental care would generate employment.

The Commissioner, who described clean and sanitized environment as social responsibility of every stakeholder in the society, said the state government would continue to do its best in keeping the environment tidy.

He sought the support of the media houses in attaining the goals of his ministry.
