17 Kwara Graduates Become Public Health Fellows

The African Institute of Public Health Professionals, has inducted 17 graduates of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Kwara State as fellows.

Speaking at the annual induction event, the Director, Centre for Wellness and Creative Art, Kwara State University, Malete, Dr Khadijat Musah, said public health has gone digital.

She advised practitioners across the country to explore technologies and apps to manage the ageing process for senior citizens in the society.

According to her, public health practitioners should adapt themselves with information and communications technology for health management and wellbeing of aging people.

She called on the inductees to acquaint themselves more on digitisation methods of handling the aged adding that “ageing now begins from 55years with early health problems like diabetic and arthritis among others.

She advised those the aged to be mindful of what they eat and walk to exercise as “studies have shown that ageing begins from the legs.

The Vice Chancellor, Al-Hikmah university, Prof. Noah Yusuf congratulated the inductees and urged them to be good ambassadors of the university wherever they found themselves.
