The announcement was contained in a press release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye. The statement stated that " the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq has appointed a seven-person Board of Arabic Education, comprising top Muslim Scholars, academics and community leaders versed in the subject matter."

The appointment of the board came to bear after the committee constituted by the governor on Ganmo Arabic schools Corporal punishment submitted its report. The report also calls for immediate constitution of the Arabic board to attend to all issues concerning Arabic education.

The Governor describes Professor Jimba as a renowned Professor and a respected voice in the Islamic community.

Professor Mashood Jimba who holds a doctoral degree in Arabic Education is the Dean Student Affairs.

Other Members of the board include , Dr Ahmad Abubakar Agbaje, Hajia Arabiat Hussein, Abdullahi Muhammed NaMallam, Hajia Hafsat Titi Oloriegbe -Alao, Mumini Adebimpe SAN and Abbas Nurein Sunkanmi.
