Kwara United can't afford to slip up in the title race - Biffo

Date: 2021-05-25

Head coach Abdullahi Biffo says Kwara United cannot afford to slip up any further if they want to remain in the title race this season.

Kwara United are currently third on the NPFL table, with just two points behind leaders Kano Pillars and a point adrift second placed Akwa United.

The Harmony Boys were scheduled to face Enyimba last Sunday in Aba, but the game match was postponed due to the Aba Elephants' involvement in CAF Confederation Cup.

Speaking on his side's title chance, Biffo said he's proud of the season so far, but maintained that they remained an underdog in the title race.

The former Giwa FC boss, also added that Kwara United can afford to slip up and must continue to consolidate on their recent positive performance.

"Every game is always difficult at this particular stage especially when you are fighting for something at the end of the season"

"The situation we find ourselves makes every game difficult for us and more serious because we can't afford to slip- if you slip at home now you find yourself at the middle of the table so we have to keep on this performance to be able to put pressure on the other teams till the end of the season". said Biffo.

"We still remain an underdog but what we have done for ourselves has put us in a situation where we can fight for the league," he told journalists in Ilorin.
