Valuejet Championship: Kwara SWAN Commends Para-Table Tennis Team

Date: 2020-12-22

The Kwara chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), has commended the state's para-table tennis team for their heroic performance at the just concluded International Valuejet Para-Table Tennis championship in Lagos.

The state Secretary of the association, Olayinka Owolewa in a statement on Monday, described the one gold, one silver, and seven bronze medals won by the team as a fantastic Christmas gift to sports lovers in the state.

The Kwara SWAN Scribe urged the state's Ministry of Sports and Youth Development to take the welfare of the special athletes seriously.

Owolewa said the decision to call for their welfare to be a top priority was informed by the fact that they always win laurels for the state whenever they take part in any championship.

The statement recalled that the 2020 Valuejet Para-Table Tennis championship ended in Lagos on Monday.
