6-Aside Female Tourney: Kwara FA Commends Female Football Group In Kwara

Kwara State Football Association under the leadership of Abdullahi Musa Thuraya has commended the Female Football Interest Group,(FFIG), Kwara State Chapter for their efforts in developing female football in the State.

Giving his remarks at the final event of the 6-aside inter secondary school female soccer championship 2020 organised by FFIG on Saturday 12th of December, the Chairman who was represented by his Secretary, Kashim Agaka noted that such initiative is needed to bridge the gap between the male and female football.

The final match saw St' James CAC girls emerging the champions after defeating their Ilorin Government School counterpart 2-1 in a precocious- packed cum memorable spectacle. Government Day Secondary school, Odo Ore had earlier won the third-place final.

Hajia Segilola Alaya, the Vice Chairman and Matron of FFIG in Kwara State stated that the tourney was organised to discover hidden talents and also entrench the group's gospel of 'catching them young'

"Our mission since the last 10 years when FFIG was brought to Kwara State by Oba Suleiman has not changed and we will not relent in our efforts to make sure that female football grows to its highest level," She remarked.

Alaya, who is also the chairman female football development committee, Kwara State and Proprietress of Abruka Queens said the Kwara chapter is one of the most active across the Nation and will continue to do all their best for the progress of female football.

Coach Amusa Adisa former Goalkeeper Trainer of Super Eagles, Sam Elijah MON, Tunde Sanni, Alhaji Toyin Abdullahi, ANCOPSS President, Kwara State chapter, were all among the guest who graced the final event.

Other schools that participated in the tournament are Model Secondary School, C& S Secondary School, United Community Secondary School, Unilorin Secondary School, and Osin Aremu Secondary School.
