Insecticide Treated Nets for All Households in Kwara

The dream of all households in Kwara State to benefit from the year 2020 Free Distribution of Long lasting insecticide-treated Nets will become a reality in the next few days.

A Malaria Health Expert, Dr. John Ocholi has disclosed at a media advocacy meeting held today at the Kwara State Ministry of Health, Ilorin.

Speaking at the parley, Dr. Ocholi, who is also the Malaria Project Manager of the Society for Family Health said the net distribution will soon kicks off in the State.

He applauded the Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq for providing logistic support which he said, had made Kwara State eligible as a beneficiary of the long lasting insecticide treated nets.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Raji Razaq called on the media representative to contribute actively in orientating the populace on the use of this cost effective strategy in malaria prevention and to compliment the investment of the state government in healthcare as a whole.

The Commissioner, who was represented at the occasion by the Director of Public Health, Dr. Oluwatosin Fakayode appreciated the media experts and asked for more interventions so as to accomplish the success of the net distribution.

He recalled that a counterpart fund of N82 million naira had been used to attract insecticide nets worth over N3 billion naira for the state while Kwara has also been elevated to a global fund subrecipient status in the Country.

Also Speaking, the State Director of Information Services, Alh. Ayobami Akanbi reiterated the readiness of Information Officers to project the good work of the State Government.

Alh. Akanbi assured that the state government is now more concerned about good health care delivery service of the people in all ramifications.

The Director of Public Orientation, Alh. Abdulfatai Adeniyi Dan- kazeem said the State Ministry of Communications is well equipped with orientation personnel who are determined to discharge their professionalism in this regards.

He affirmed that the treated net is safe and advised the people to comply with the instructions, adding that the state government has done a lot to improve the health condition of the masses.
