Date: 2019-09-27

Kwara Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi, has urged youths to be creative and embrace the role of agents of change to make the country better.

Alabi spoke on Thursday in Ilorin while receiving the executive and members of the National Association of Kwara State Students(NAKSS), University of Abuja branch, who were in the state on an excursion.

He also made public the approval by Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq authorising N50 million as bursary to students from the state.

The deputy governor also noted that the issue of scholarship to students would be looked into, adding that the future belonged to the youths.

Alabi, who further called on the students to use their inspiration to create wealth and generate employment, urged them to strive to take leadership positions.

The deputy governor also warned them against negative tendencies such as drug abuse.

Also speaking, a motivational speaker, Akin Akinboro, urged youths to utilise their potentials and be productive in thinking.

Akinboro commended Abdulrazaq and his Oyo State counterpart, Seyi Makinde, for nominating youths into their cabinets.

Earlier, the President of NAKSS, Abdulrahman Nurudeen, had commended the state government for the steps taken in the development of the state.

Nurudeen, who called for an increase in the bursary given to students, also implored the state government not to relent in its people-oriented programmes .
