Date: 2019-09-12

Musician, Temitope Adekunle, popularly known as Small Doctor, performed at the opening ceremony of the 2019 National Youth Games in the University of Ilorin, Kwara State on Tuesday.

A sports ministry official, Dr Ademola Are, said the ministry was doing everything within its powers to improve the Games.

He added that the ministry would ensure over-age athletes do not take part in the competition.

He said, "This is the fifth edition and what we are trying to do is to improve on the performances of the last edition, especially in the areas of screening, facilities, feeding, accreditation, security. We are doing all we can in conjunction with the University of Ilorin to ensure that we have a more successful game this year. We are denying the coaches and officials from the states to be part of the screening, because definitely, they will want to influence."
