AbdulRazaq Berates Lack of Government Presence in Kwara North

The Federal Ministry of Education Technical team members visited the proposed site for the establishment of Federal College of Science and Technology which will be situated in Gwanara in Baruten LGA of Kwara state and thereafter met with the executive governor of Kwara state AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for debriefing.

The team which comprised of the Procurement Officer Federal Ministry of Education, Mr Amele; Deputy Director Federal Ministry of Education, Mr Aguiyi J.C; Deputy Director Federal Ministry of Education Mrs Ogah M.M; Assistant Director Legal Federal Ministry of Education, Mrs Hadiza Ibrahim; Asst. Director, Federal Ministry of Education, Mr. Osundeyi K. E and Mr Omata David Executive Asst. Project Coach expressed sincere gratitude to governor AbdulRazaq and the Speaker of the Kwara state House of Assembly Hon. Danladi Yakub for the hospitality and sincerity of purpose shown to them throughout the period of their stay within the state.

Governor AbdulRazaq expressed the state's pleasure of having the team, readiness of his administration and equally requested that federal government should give the final approval to establish the school as there is no federal or state presence in terms of infrastructure and basic amenities needed for economic growth not just in Baruten but in the entire Kwara North senatorial district of the state. He acknowledged the benefits attached to the establishment of the college which include but not limited to rapid development and job creation for people in Baruten community and the state.

AbdulRazaq spoke extensively about the lapses and misdirection of resources by the previous administrations which led to deficits in infrastructure and retarded development in not just Kwara North but also the state generally. He however promised to tackle the deficits with urgent government interventions which will be carried out as soon as possible.

Governor AbdulRazaq also enjoined the Speaker and the lawmakers in the state House of Assembly to contribute their own quota by appropriating resources to that effect.

He apologised for the incapabilities of the previous administrations and assured the technical team that his administration would not be lazy about development in the state.
