A claimant, Olusola Olasehinde, who applied to the Kwara State High Court to join in the alleged certificate forgery suit instituted against the state governor, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has alleged that he and his counsel are being intimidated by the police as a result of their involvement in the suit.

Olasehinde alleged that his counsel, Olawale Babalola, who filed the suit on his behalf, was arrested by the police on the premises of the Kwara State High Court, Ilorin last Monday immediately after exiting the courtroom.

But the Police Public Relations Officer in Kwara State Police Command, Ajayi Okasanmi, denied knowledge of the arrest.

Okasanmi told our correspondent, "I am not aware of such arrest by the police."

The PPRO advised that the lawyer should feel free to come forward to meet with the state Commissioner of Police with his complaint.

Addressing some journalists in Ilorin on Friday, Olasehinde who was with his counsel said, "Immediately after the court session, I left and travelled out of the state. I was in transit when my lawyer called me that he had been arrested by the police and taken to the SIB that he forged the receipt with which we paid the filing fees for our action to join as a co-claimant in the suit challenging the authenticity of the secondary school certificate of the Kwara State governor."

However, a high court in the state handling the suit has adjourned till June 26 after holding that the case had not been discontinued by the claimant, Olufemi Abraham, while ruling that the defendant was still within the time to respond to the notice of the application of joinder by the prospective co-claimant.
