Ex -convict Kills Friend Over N200 Debt In Kwara

Residents of Oko-Olowo area of Ilorin were stunned when a man in his early 20s simply identified as Sulukarnaini was killed by an unidentified ex-convict over N200 debt. gument was said to have ensued between the two friends, a development that saw the ex-convict reaching out for his knife to stab Sulukarnaini in the neck.

According to an eye witness who pleaded anonymity crisis after the suspect demanded for his N200 debt from the deceased.

"In the process of agitating for the money, a fight ensued between the two friends. The suspect knocked the deceased down and stabbed him in the neck. Speaking further, he said, "Sulu's elder brother, Sheu asked him to come to visit him in Osogbo but unfortunately it was his lifeless body that his brother met."

SuluKarnaini was said to have been rushed to the General Hospital, Ilorin for medical attention but he was confirmed dead at the hospital.

The victim's corpse was taken to the 'G Division' police station at Oloje where it was later collected by the family before being buried at the Muslim Cemetery, Osere according to Islamic injunctions. According to the eyewitness, Sulu had sometimes cheated death after being stabbed in another fight. He, however, said the ex-convict is presently in police net after residents of Oko-Olowo informed security operatives about the incidence. When contacted, the Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi confirmed the incident. "Two people were fighting over N200 and one of them died during the fight.
