The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has named Alhaji Jimoh Saheed Damilare Alatise as its consensus candidate for the November 17 Ekiti/Oke-Ero/Isin/Irepodun Federal Constituency by-election.

According to a statement by the party's State Publicity Secretary, Mr Tunde Ashaolu, Alatises candidacy was affirmed by all delegates from the four local government areas that make up the constituency at the primary election held in Omu-Aran on Sunday.

The PDP spokesperson disclosed that Alatise hails from Omu-aran Ward II of Irepodun local government and described him as a successful businessman and a tested and trusted grassroots politician whose influence cuts across his constituency.

Ashaolu commended the delegates and other party faithful for their peaceful conduct during the primary election, which monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He also expressed confidence that the PDP will emerge victorious in the forthcoming November 17 by-election
