Ramadan: Kwara PDP guber aspirant tasks Muslims on prayers

Date: 2018-05-19

A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship hopeful in Kwara State, Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Ajia, has admonished Muslim faithful to pray fervently for sustenance of peace and tranquility in the state.

He asked them to explore the spiritual benefits of the holy month of Ramadan to beseech the Almighty Allah with a view to helping the state surmounting it's multifarious challenges, particularly security.

Speaking during breaking of fast he organized for Muslim faithful in Ilorin, Ajia, who is the founder, Mohammed Ajia Ibrahim (MAI) Foundation described Ramadan as a month of spiritual rejuvenation for true believers.

He expressed optimism that challenges facing the state were surmountable but overcoming them lies in the readiness of all Muslim Ummah to be prayerful.

Ajia congratulated Muslims for making it to what he called "month of spiritual fortifications" and rejuvenation and prayed to Almighty Allah to accept the fast as an act of worship.

"It is another month of Ramadan, accrued in it spiritual benefits. We, Muslim faithful must appropriately utilise the period, to seek the face of the Almighty Allah in the bid to surmount our collective challenges.

"One of the multifarious problems we have been battling with is insecurity, no state is exempted from this particular challenge including Kwara State. To cast our mind back quickly, the robbery scenario in Offa is not something that would fade off memory in a hurry.

"But we are confident that no matter the nature of the situation, it can never be off track of prayers. That is why it is expedient to take the advantage of this holy month of spiritual fortifications to pray fervently for sustenance of peace and tranquility in the land.

"We use this opportunity to congratulate our Muslim brothers and sisters in their respective communities in our darling Kwara for making it to this month of bounties", Ajia said.

The breaking of fast featured special prayer for the state and all kwarans.
