Do Not Fear Retirement, Ahmed Tells Public Servants

Date: 2012-08-30

The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji AbdulFatah Ahmed, yesterday advised civil servants about to retire from the service to engage in accurate planning rather than engage in fear about life after retirement.

He noted that the major challenge of public servants is the fear of  what becomes of them after active service years.

The Governor, spoke at a two-day workshop for civil servants and public office holders on "steps to attaining financial freedom", organised by the state government in collaboration with a commercial bank in Ilorin, the state capital.

Ahmed added, "it is my desire to put it forward to you to start preparing for the period as we shall also help you in achieving your goals of financial independence.

"As visionary leader and financial expert my hope is to see our pensioners wax stronger through their foresights and investment viz-a-viz assets put in place".
