Security expert mourns former IEDPU President

Date: 2018-02-14

A Security Expert, Alhaji Mohammed Ajia, has mourned the death of former President of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Justice Saka Yusuf (rtd).

He described the transition of Justice Yusuf as one death too many, considering his antecedents as a leader and defender of the Ilorin Emirate.

In a reaction yesterday, Ajia, a retired senior police officer, said he was shocked with the demise of the jurist, who he added, etched his footprints in the sacred temple of justice.

He said the death of Justice Yusuf, who retired as Chief Judge of Kwara State, would not be forgotten in a hurry while the vacuum he created would be difficult to fill.

Ajia recalled that the late former President IEDPU used his position to successfully defend and protect Ilorin Emirate.

The Security Expert commiserated with the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, IEDPU and the bereaved family over the demise of Justice Yusuf.

He prayed Almighty Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest and Al-Janat Firdaus.

"It is saddening to hear about the demise of Justice Saka Yusuf, former President of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) and former Chief Judge of Kwara State. It is one death, too many for us in Ilorin and Kwara State at large.

"The transition of this fine jurist, who bestrode the temple of justice like a colossus can best be described as the end of an era. This is because his contribution to temple of justice, the bench in particular and humanity in general would remain evergreen in the heart of those, who crossed his way.

"He also used his position to defend and protect Ilorin Emirate. He was a leader and defender of the people. Justice Saka Yusuf protected Ilorin Emirate all the time. Such an iconic figure cannot be forgotten in our memory, no matter how long it takes", Ajia added.
