Eze credits early goal for Kwara United win against Lobi Stars

Date: 2018-02-02

The Harmony Warriors' netminder has applauded the team's effort in holding on to their early lead against the Pride of Benue Kwara United goalkeeper, Chidiebere Eze says their latest home win over Lobi Stars could be credited to the technical crew who challenged them to go on the hunt for early goals in their Nigeria Professional Football League tie played in Ilorin on Thursday.

The Harmony Warriors struck in the ninth minute through Stephen Afred to leapfrog Heartland at the foot of the league table and Eze informed that the victory won't have been possible had they not stuck to the coaches' game-plan from the start to finish.

"It was a good win for us. The victory relieved the tension in the camp. The pressure we had before the game was much but the victory has calmed us down. The players and coaches were under pressure to perform because of our bad start to the season. Another unimpressive home game would have worsened everything," Eze told Goal.
