Ehindero Emerges AAEUN Kwara Chairman
Comrade David Kayode Ehindero, has been elected the State Chairman of the Agriculture and Allied Employees' Union of Nigeria (AAEUN), Kwara State Council.
Ehindero, fondly called DK, emerged in a free, fair and credible election as he defeated the incumbent chairman during the state delegates conference (SDC) held on Friday, 10th August, 2012 in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
The conference was declared open by the Kwara State Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, who was represented by the Director of Engineering, Engr. Oyedele O. Makanjuola. The election was held under the supervision of key national officers of the union, led by the National President of AAEUN, Comrade Simon Anchaver, who was represented by the Vice National President (North Central Zone), Comrade Alanana Emmanuel. The state chairmen of the NLC and TUC were also represented at the conference.
At the end of the conference, other state council officers were elected to paddle the affairs of the council for the next four years were returned unopposed.
During the swearing-in ceremony, which was held immediately after the election, the new AAEUN state council chairman, Comrade D.K Ehindero in his acceptance speech, promised to provide sound, balanced and selfless leadership for the union and make it relevant to members core need for the overall good of the nation.
In a statement by the State Organizing Secretary, Comrade Oluwatope Ayokunle further said the state delegates' conference (SDC) ended with the union members more determined to promote the ideals of the union.
According to him, the official handing-over where the chairman will unveil his Plan of Action comes up tomorrow and that his instrument of achieving his goal shall be People, Partnership and Communication (PPC).
Other officers returned unopposed at the conference are: Comrades Moshood Soleye as Vice Chairman, Anthony Okulaja as Treasurer, Mrs Victoria Agboola as Women Coordinator, Femi Bibilomo as Welfare Officer, Felix Ofuagu as State Auditor and Oyedun Olalekan as Trustee
