Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state, on Tuesday, presented certificate of return to the winner of last month re-run election conducted into Ilorin North West State Assembly seat.

The resident Electoral Commissioner, Timothy Ibitoye who made the presentation of the certificate congratulated the winner and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Alhaji Abdulfatai Salman on his victory.

He also re-iterated the intention of the INEC to uphold its promises of conducting free, fair and credible election.

Ibitoye advised politicians to eschew politics of bitterness and hatred, saying that welfare of the public should be paramount to the elected members.

In his acceptance speech, the winner of the election, Alhaji Abdulfatai Salman Babakinni commended the electoral body for conducting free, fair and credible election.

Babakinni also expressed gratitude to the electorate for their support and promised to justify the confidence reposed on him by initiating bills that will have direct impact in his people's life.

According to him, "I am so much happy than ever before because going through re-run is not an easy task.

He also thanked Senator Bukola Saraki and the entire party leadership for support, pointing out that without them, the victory would not have been recorded
