KWSG Extends Road Works

As the Kwara State Government continues to extend road repair and construction across the state, the ongoing reconstruction of Oko Bridge in Ifelodun local government area will be completed in the next fourteen days.

The State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Alhaji Aro Yahaya gave this assurance during an inspection visit to the site.

According to the Commissioner, the level of work done so far by the contractor on the bridge is 90% completed with asphalt ready to be laid this week. He added that the bridge has already been put to use by motorists since March this year, but the total work will be completed and delivered by the first week of December.

Alhaji Yahaya commended all the contractors handling various projects in the State for their steadfast commitment to ensure that the projects are delivered to the government at their appointed time.

The Commissioer, who also visited the ongoing rehabilitation of the 1km Ogbondoroko township road in Asa local Government Area of the state, applauded the contractor for carrying out the projects in line with specification.

At the Collapsed Isapa bridge in Ekiti local government, the commissioner, said the visit was to ascertain the level of damage on the portion of the bridge and see how government will work on how to repair the bridge to ease movement for the people and motorists plying the road.

Other road projects visited by the Commissioner are Eruku Township road, 2km extension of Idofin-Odo Ashe road and Oke-opin township road.
