Gbemi Saraki group organised ramadan lecture in memory of late Saraki

The forum for Senator Gbemisola Rukayat Saraki (GRS) Ilorin West Chapter has on Sunday organised a special ramadan lecture in memory of late Kwara political ICON, Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki.

In his opening remarks, one of the organizers. Hon. Sakariyah Ganmo, said the programme was organised in recognition of immense contributions of late Olusola Saraki in human development across kwara and the nation at large during his life time.

He said "most of us who have benefited in one way or the others from his politics decided to organise ramadan lecture in his memory adding that the lecture will be an annual even assuring that the next year programme would be a successful one", he hinted.

In his lecture tittle "the importance of women in development of a nation", the quest lecturer, Ustaz Zobur Alaya stressed the importance of women in the development in mordern society. He said women was well recognized by Islam and placed them in their rightful position as stated in Holy Qur'an.

According him, during the era of Prophet Muhammad, women was played a prominent roles in propagation of Islam and they were awarded with the certificates of Al-janat Fridos.

The cleric added that the women of nowaday were also playing a leading roles in the course of Allah,pointing out that women always out numbered men in religious places, assuring them that the mercy and blessing of Allah is waiting them on the day of last judgement.

He lamented that some mothers were responsible for the caring of children education while their husbands were less concern about the welfare and education of their children.

Ustaz Alaya emphasised that almost every woman is now involves in politics purposely to get their children employed, assuring them that their labouur will not be invain on their wards. He warned politicians to do away with politics of bitterness and give women a chance to occupy their rightful position in government.

He advised the politicians to emulate the leadership style of late Olusola Saraki by showing love to the lessprivileged people at grass roots. Imam however, described the philanthropic nature of late Saraki to all mankind irrespective of tribal, religious or political affliations.

He prayed Allah to grant his everlasting peace in Al-janat Fridos. In his vote of thanks, Hon. Lagbe Yusuf appreciated the organizers of the programme for their good intiatives and commitment to the success of the programme despited their tight schedule at their various places.
