Crown FC picks Ilorin stadium

Date: 2012-02-06

Crown Football Club of Ogbomoso has settled for the Kwara Sports Complex, Ilorin as its home ground just as the Nigeria National League (NNL) has rejected the choice of Iloko international stadium as host to two Osun based national league teams, Gray FC and Ajiroba Ooni FC, insisting that the stadium did not meet the expectations of the NNL inspectors that recently visited it to find out its state of readiness for the league.

Media officer of Crown FC, Kunle Oyeleye confrimed to Tribunesports that Ilorin will serve as the team's home ground after the NNL blacklisted the Soun Stadium, Ogbomoso. This puts to rest the reports that Crown will play its matches at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan.

In the case of Iloko Stadium, NNL secretary, Ayo Rahaman, disclosed that both Gray's FC and Ajiroba Ooni of Ife will be allowed to use Ofa township stadium as their temporary base pending the completion of the facilities at the Iloko stadium.

Rahaman, who also disclosed the rejection of Agege stadium as home to bridge boys FC of Lagos noted that Prime FC and Ila FC, also from Osun state will play their home matches at the Oluyemi Kayode stadium in Ado Ekiti.

''We cannot approve the use of Iloko international stadium for both Gray FC and Ajiroba Ooni FC because of the poor condition of the stadium which did not meet our requirements. Also Bridge boys FC cannot play at the Agege stadium because of lack of inner perimeter fencing of the stadium. We have therefore approved the use of Ofa Township stadium in for Gray and Ajiroba Ooni, while the other two clubs from Osun, Prime FC and Ilah FC will play at the Olufemi Kayode stadium in Ado Ekiti.''

He also disclosed that Abubakar Atiku stadium in Fufuro, Aguiyi Ironsi stadium in Abuja, as well as Kafanchan township have been approve to host matches involving Adamawa United FC, FRSC, FC Abuja and Nasarawa united FC respectively.
