An Ilorin High Court in Kwara on Monday sentenced one Ahmed Abdullahi to death by hanging after finding him guilty of a charge of culpable homicide.

The court also sentenced the convict to five year imprisonment for being in possession of a fresh human head. The court also sentenced Waheed Sanni and Saka Adisa to five years imprisonment each for unlawfully receiving fresh human head.

The court sentenced the two to another five years imprisonment each for criminal conspiracy.

In his judgment, the state Chief Judge, Justice Suleiman Durosinlohun Kawu ordered that Ahmed Abdullahi be hanged for causing the death of a nine year old, Hamidu Sanda by beheading him in a bush at Amberi Village, Irepodun local government area of the state, on April 1, 2009.

The judge said Alfa Waheed Sanni and Saka Adisa conspired to be in possession of a fresh human head of the late Hamidu Sanda for ritual purpose.
