Kwara Speaker rallies support for KWTV sustenance, effectiveness

Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Dr Ali Ahmad has pledged the House commitment to collaborate and support the state television broadcasting services, (KWTV ) in a bid to make it more efficient and effective.

Represented by the Deputy Speaker, Hon Matthew Okedare during the station's management courtesy call to the Assembly on Tuesday, Ahmad stressed that it became imperative to support the television station as it is a pride of Kwarans.

In a statement issued by the Speaker's Media Aide, Shuaib Abdulkadir, the Speaker commended the television station for doing the state proud with its various enlightened and educative programmes, which he noted have been impacting the citizens positively.

He however encouraged the management to sustain the tempo by continue to promote government programmes and activities which would further enlighten the public and shape their opinions and views about government.

Earlier, the station's General Manager, Alhaji Abdulfatai Adebowale had appreciated the lawmakers' resolute and fortitude while carrying out their legislative duties.

Adebowale who called for more patronage from the House of Assembly to the station added that KWTV is the state property and belonged to every Kwarans.

Therefore, he called for all hands to be on deck in order to ensure that the television station does not die but to remain competitive in the broadcasting business.

In a related development, the speaker represented by the Deputy Speaker, Hon Matthew Okedare appreciated Freelance Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN) for their contributions to the growth and development of the society.

The association which was led by its Chairman, Sulaiman Ayodeji had sought for more recognition of its members from government, politicians and both television and radio stations management.
