Wednesday, November 10,2015 will continue to remain evergreen in the minds of the people of Irepodun Local Government Area and most especially Ajase-Ipo Community. It was a day set aside to the honour newly sworn in Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Nurudeen Banu.

Similarly, the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, Oba Sikiru Atanda Sanni gave Banu his royal blessing. The monarch eulogized the commissioner for contributing immensely to the development of Igbomina land most especially in all the communities under Ajase District.

The traditional ruler commended the commissioner for not abusing the confidence reposed on him. He thanked Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki and Emir of Ilorin ,Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari for giving their illustrious son another opportunity to serve the state.

It was gathering of who-is-who in Igbomina land at the sleepy Ajase-Ipo town, where the commissioner hails from. Everywhere bubbled with activities lined up to mark the colourful celebration.

It was the day the quiet town received one of its largest and most tumultuous crowd. Gaily dressed sons and daughters of the town, with their friends and well wishers from various parts of the country trooped out in celebratory mood to welcome their guests.

All the prominent citizens of the community put heads together with members of the organizing committee and one remarkable picture presented was the palpable spirit of camaraderie and community service as the ground was being prepared for the august gathering.

Praise singers, ewi exponent artists, dramatists and jesters added colour to the environment as they treated the guests to hilarious renditions. The introduction of guests provided an opportunity for many to know the men and women of power gathered that afternoon to add glamour to the celebration.

The non-indigenes were not left out in the celebration galore. The Nupe, Hausa, Fulani, Bororo communities trooped out in their hundreds to celebrate the illustrious son of the land whom they described as trustworthy and faithful man who had contributed immensely to the socio-economic development of their respective communities without discrimination.

Some of the people who spoke with newsmen eulogized Banu for his philanthropic gesture, describing him as a great giver who has put smiles on faces through his numerous empowerment programmes.

The artisans, Okada Ridders Association, Fruit Sellers Association, Transport Associations came out massively to shower praises on the commissioner. The prayer session was led by the Chief Imam of Ajase-Ipo. They prayed Almighty Allah to bestow wisdom, knowledge and understanding on the commissioner.

The people prayed for Senate President ,Dr. Bukola Saraki that God be with him and deliver him from detractors. They also prayed for good governance, unity, peace and love .

The celebrant, Alhaji Demola Banu thanked Almighty Allah for sparing his life, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed and Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki for giving him another opportunity to serve the state.

He thanked all the traditional chiefs, religious leaders, all members of the All Progressives Congress(APC) for supporting the state government and promised not to abuse the confidence reposed on him.
