Date: 2012-06-07

The Kwara State Government has collaborated with the Federal Government with a view to improving the state of power supply in the state.

The Governor dropped this hint during the week while speaking at the official commissioning of Amberi-Falokun rural electrification project in Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.

Ahmed who was represented on the occasion by his deputy, Elder Peter Kisira, said the idea of collaborating with Federal Government was basically to reduce the cost of transaction and above all make life more meaningful for Kwarans.

"We are aware of the challenges of power sector, therefore we are joining hands with the Federal Government to improve the state of power supply in the state so as to reduce the cost of transacting business in the state to the barest minimum"

The Governor who congratulated the two communities for being part of the areas connected to the national grid, also attributed the possibility of the gesture to the fruits and benefits of continuity in government "It will be recalled that at inception of this administration on May 29, 2011, it was reaffirmed that this administration will guarantee continuity of good legacies of the past administration and ensure provision of dividends of democracy to all the nooks and crannies of the state.

"It is, therefore, in fulfillment of this pledge that serious attention is given to the completion of the on-going projects, one of which we are commissioning in Amberi-Falokun today" the governor declared.
