Supreme Court to give judgment on Offa stool tussle November 17

Date: 2015-11-02

The Supreme Court will on November 17 decide the chieftaincy tussle between the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi, and Olugbense ruling house.

It is recalled that Oba Gbadamosi had challenged the judgment of the appelate court at the Supreme Court after the Appeal Court judgment ruled against his obaship on July 2013.

To this extent, one of the ruling houses in Offa, Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State, the Olugbense ruling house, has described as untrue the speculation that the Olofa chieftaincy dispute had been resolved by the Supreme Court.

Speaking with journalists in Ilorin at the weekend, Prince Saka Keji of the Olugbense ruling house tasked traditional institutions in the country to always promote peace by obeying court judgment.

Prince Keji said that the speculation that the Olofa chieftaincy dispute had been resolved by the Supreme Court in favour of Oba Mohammed Gbadamosi was not true.
