Saraki Saga May Truncate Democracy - Zaitawa

Date: 2015-09-30

A Chieftain of All the Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, Alhaji Mujahid Zaitawa, has described the rumpus in the Senate over the alleged failure of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, to declare his assets as a ploy to deprive the North its chance to govern Nigeria.

Speaking to newsmen in Kano, Zaitawa, who is also the Chairman of APC Northern Youth Merger Group, alleged that the legal tussle was orchestrated by some greedy politicians desperate to acquire undue influence by perpetuating the deadlock.

He also alleged that those behind the ploy were only trying to pave the way for the deputy Senate President, Chief Ekweremadu, to take over after Saraki was removed.

Zaitawa lamented that it would be inimical to the North's interest, if the plan was allowed to scale through.
