Fire Destroys N8.5million Property At Ilorin Market

Goods worth N8.5million were destroyed by fire that gutted Okolowo market, Ilorin, Kwara state.

Shops and other infrastructure in a section of the market were completely razed. However, no life was lost to the incident.

When our reporter visited the market, scores of traders were seen counting their loss.

One of the victims, Alhaji Jimoh Abdullahi claimed that the fire started off when fuel was poured near the spot where a woman was cooking on the fateful day.

According to him," a dealer in black market was filling the tank of a vehicle, a small quantity poured on the ground where a woman was cooking and immediately there was an explosion.
