According to Duntoye, the renovation and upgrade of the Stadium Complex, which is to gulp the sum of N1.3 billion has been awarded to Arom Nigeria Limited with 48 weeks as the completion period.

He disclosed further that out of the total contract sum, 1N billion would be sourced from the N17 billion bond approved by the State Government, adding that 30% of the total sum would be paid to the contractor as mobilization.

The Ganmo-Afon road, the Commissioner explained, has been awarded to Bal Engineering Limited at a cost of over N618 Million for a completion period of ten months.

Speaking further on renovation and upgrade of the Stadium Complex, Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Dr Abubakar Kannike said it will encompass reconstruction and redesign from the present 9,000 sitting capacity to 18,000.

The Stadium, he stated further, would be upgraded to a FIFA standard and would include facilities such as residential cubicle, press gallery, changing room, mixed zone and flood lights, among others.
