The Emir of Shonga, Alhaji Haliru Yahaya,has commended the Labour party gubernatorial candidate in Kwara State, Dr. Mike Omotosho for the creative and peaceful way he has been carrying out his campaign.

The Emir made this commendation when he received Omotosho and his campaign team during their campaign tour to Shonga and other communities in Edu LGA.

The traditional ruler said both the slogan, billboards, and media adverts of the LP gubernatorial candidate shows creativity on the part of his team, and that he is happy about the peaceful nature of his political campaigns.

The Emir thanked the LP candidate and his team for the visit and also prayed for his success at the polls.

The community requested for good roads, portable water supply, completion of central mosque and primary school, support for their farmers, and reconstruction of areas destroyed by erosion.

In his address, Omotosho said that the purpose of his visit to the area is to find out the needs of the community and also obtain the blessings of the monarch before commencing his campaign in the community.

Omotosho said his administration will make rural development a priority, and ensure basic amenities like good roads, portable water and electricity supply are the minimum every community will have.

He also promised to provide free education up to secondary school level, and create employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for the youths.
