Kwara LP gov candidate assures on infrastructure, employment
The Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in Kwara State, Mike Omotosho, has assured the people of Oyun local government area of the state of massive infrastructural development if elected the governor.
Omotosho, who toured such communities as Igosun, Ipe, Ijagbo and Ojoku in the area, promised the people good road network, provision of portable water, better health care delivery and employment for the youths.
The people of Igosun, while receiving Omotosho's campaign team, had requested employment for their jobless graduates, tarring of the road from Ila Orogun up to the community and provision of portable water.
A leader of the community, who spoke on behalf of the people, said the water pipe laid by the state government did not get to the community.
He disclosed that the community is willing to donate land for industries to be built in the area and asked for more hospitals and a higher institution. At Ipe, the team was received by the Olori and Baales, who prayed for the success of the LP at the polls, and requested for the repair of their roads. Omotosho said he has noted the community's requests and will ensure implementation when he gets into office.
The Onijagbo of Ijagbo, Salaudeen Olagunju Adeyeye, who received the campaign team in his palace, prayed for the success of the LP, while requesting for good roads for the community.
The LP gubernatorial candidate, in his response, spoke about his manifesto and programmes for the state, which he said include social security for the aged, improved pension, free qualitative education up to secondary school and empowerment for women.
The team was also at the palace of Olojoku of Ojoku, Abdulrazak Afolabi, who advised the LP candidate to conduct his campaign peacefully and not adopt a do-or-die approach.
He reminded Omotosho to remember to give what is due to Baales and the community when he gets into office.
