PDP no threat to us in Kwara South - Ibrahim

Date: 2014-12-22

The Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara South Senatorial District for the 2015 general elections, Dr Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim, said yesterday that the presence of opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) posed no threat to his party in the zone.

He declared that the forthcoming polls would further affirm the ruling APC as a National party that was built on providing quality leadership and good governance to the people.

He added that APC was a party to beat in the elections, just as he urged the stakeholders of the party to work collectively for the party to triumph in a landslide victory.

In an interview in Ilorin, Ibrahim, who represents Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, said the dominance of APC in Kwara politics was incontrovertible and it would be laughable for unpopular elements to think of sending the ruling APC packing in the next year's polls.

The lawmaker explained that the performance of his party in all aspects of governance was felt across the state and called on all opposition not to be disillusioned that it would get any where in the general elections.

Ibrahim also stated that his party has warmed itself to the heart of the people of Kwara South due to its quality representation at the National Assembly and the performance of the governor.

Acknowledging the leadership of Senator Bukola Saraki in the affairs of the APC, the lawmaker appealed to Kwarans to support the second bid of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed with a view to moving the state further forward.

He said, "We believe our (APC) dominance in Kwara South is incontrovertible. Opposition has no justification to boast that it would win in 2015 general elections. The much we have done, had moved us ahead of our detractors. I must also make it clear that the presence of the PDP poses no threat to us in Kwara South because we know, the zone is for us.

"Our people must therefore realize that we can't be drawn back by personalities associated with failure and failed promises. Our party is on fast pace, delivering goodies to the people of Kwara State. Th.

at is why I said that opposition cannot reap from where they did not sow.

"Lovers of our party should work collectively to make the journey smooth for us. We believe with people on our side, opposition would be shamed".
