Kwara to partner religious bodies on moral values

Date: 2014-11-18

The Kwara State Governor, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed, has called on religious institutions to partner his government in promoting moral values and good conduct in the state.

p>Governor Ahmed made the call when he participated in the Assalatu prayer of the Ilorin Branch of the Nasrullahi-l- fatihi Society of Nigeria held at NASFAT village.

He said the partnership would assist in checking moral decadence in the society.

Dr. Ahmed attributed most religious crises recorded in the country to intolerance and lack of proper understanding of religion by some adherents.

He commended NASFAT for the feat achieved in the field of enlightenment of Muslims about Islam and assured the society of continuous support to enhance its educational and moral programmes.

Governor Ahmed charged NASFAT and other religious bodies to lend their voices in demanding good governance and accountability in the country.

He promised that his government would not renege in its responsibility of showing good examples, transparency in governance despite huge resource challenges.

The Chairman of Ilorin Branch of NASFAT, Engineer Bashir Lawal, praised the governor for his educational and empowerment policies and programmes aimed at making life bearable for all and sundry.
