Unite against Boko Haram, Nigerians urged

Date: 2014-11-12

Pioneer Grand Khadi of Kwara State Sharia Court, Justice Abdulkadir Orire, on Tuesday called on Nigerians, irrespective of religious or ethnic affiliations to pray for an end to insurgency in the country.

Orire said the current Boko Haram challenge should be of concern to people in all parts of the country, adding that it shouldn't be considered as an issue affecting only northerners.

He spoke with journalists in Ilorin during a special prayer to mark the Emir of Ilorin's 19th year on the throne.

He urged Nigerians to collectively "think and reflect properly" about the insurgency with a view to finding a permanent solution to it.

He hailed the Emir of Ilorin for his contributions to peace and harmony in the state and Nigeria, saying, "Ilorin is the most peaceful state in Nigeria".
