Kwara State Government reiterates committment to the development of its workforce

Kwara State Governor, Dr Bukola Saraki has reiterated the determination of the State Government to constant training and re-training of its workforce in order to improve efficiency in the Civil Service.

Dr Saraki made the pledge while addressing participants at a seven-day Training Workshop on Basic ICT Training Programmme organized by the State Government.

The governor, who spoke through the Head of Service, Alhaji Dabarako Mohammed, described training and retraining as a worthwhile venture in view of its potentials to ensure good returns in both the public and private sectors.

The training program, he said, was organized to enhance the capacity of civil servants in the State.

The workshop which commenced last year with two sets of 60 participants each had so far graduated no few than 2000 trainees in information and communication technology.

It is expected that, at the end of the training session, all workers in the employment of the Kwara State Government would have become ICT complaint before year 2011.

He urged participants to be punctual at the training programme in order to benefit maximally and enhance the e-governance policy of the State Government.

A Resource person at the workshop, Miss Yusuf Mariam said at the end of the workshop, participants would be in a position to identify the Fundamentals of Computing, Windows Operating System, Computer Operations and programmes, Microsoft Word 2007, Microsoft Excel 2007, Microsoft Power Point  2007 and working  with the Internet.
