Governor Bukola Saraki commissions Kwara State Geographic Information System
The Geographic Information System, which cost the State Government about N200 Million, is the most modern means of capturing, storing, processing and analyzing geographic/land related information for various uses.
Governor Saraki, who disclosed at the occasion that 4000 Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) have been recaptured, directed that the remaining 2000 be captured before the end of the year.
He called for support from all Kwarans and the relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of the System, assuring that the State would be made to become a role model in computerization of land records and surveys.
While congratulating the entire staff of the ministry of lands, Dr Saraki called for careful handling of the equipment to justify the huge investment in order to derive the maximum benefits that Information Technology holds for the people.
Earlier in his welcome address, Commissioner for lands and Housing, Dr Adebayo Ishola assured that with the new Geographic information System, land documentation in the State will become efficient and accurate, adding that it will also speed up the processing of Title documents for all development needs.
Dr Ishola expressed appreciation to Governor Saraki for his unflinching support and pledged his loyalty in the realization of the governor’s various laudable Policies and projects for the overall benefits of the citizens and investors alike.
