Rescue Chibok girls, Saraki urges FG
Former governor of Kwara State, Bukola Saraki, has urged the federal government to do everything possible to ensure that the abducted Chibok school girls are released safely.
Saraki in his independence anniversary message urged Nigerians to keep the demand loud and strong.
He urged Nigerians to see the independence celebration as a turning point to move the country forward.
"As we come together to address this issue and many others, we must also remember that we must tackle all our obstacles with urgency. We must not wait or delay, postpone or procrastinate in the name of politics the actualization of any solution that will better our nation", he said.
On his part, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed predicted that Nigeria is destined to survive as one of the greatest and most prosperous nations of the world.
"Most countries that went through trying periods as currently being experienced by the country usually emerge strong, prosperous and united. Therefore, Nigeria may not be an exception", he said.
Ahmed urged Nigerians to use the 54th anniversary of the country's independence to rededicate themselves to the ideals of national development, unity and cohesion even in the face of obviously daunting socio-economic challenges.
