Best option for Kwara is to remain in PDP - Minister

Date: 2014-09-15

Minister of National Planning and Deputy Chairman National Planning Commission, Dr. Abubakar Suleiman, yesterday said the best option for Kwara State politically is for it to remain with the government at the centre.

The minister said the state had been part of the mainstream politics of the ruling party at the centre for over two decades, adding that it cannot afford to be in opposition.

Suleiman spoke when he paid homage to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on his arrival for the reception organised for him by the Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Sulaiman, who stressed that being in the mainstream politics remains the best for the state, however, assured the emir that politicians would conduct themselves peacefully and play politics without bitterness and acrimony.
