Boko Haram, a national emergency - Gambari
Former Nigeria's Permanent Rep-resentative to United Nations and a member of the National Conference, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, has described insurgency in the North-east part of Nigeria as a national emergency.
Gambari, who said the Nigerian state is "under serious and unprecedented attack", called for collective response to end the insurgency.
He stated this on Saturday at the second convocation ceremony of Kwara State University, Malete.
Gambari, who is the chancellor of the university, described the Boko Haram situation as a grave national challenge, saying, "It would be a great mistake to regard the insurgency as a problem of the North-east region alone".
