Governor Ahmed mourns Ex-Gov Adamu Attah
Attah was the first civilian governor of Kwara State.
He reportedly died in Abuja on Thursday.
In his reaction, the Kwara State Governor, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed, described Attah’s death as painful and tragic.
Ahmed, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Abdulwahab Oba, also described the demise of Attah, who was the governor of Kwara State between 1979 and 1983, as shocking and a national loss.
Ahmed noted that Nigeria has lost the wisdom of an elder statesman with the death of the former governor.
“I also commiserate with the government and people of Kogi State over the loss of this illustrious son who contributed immensely to building a strong nation where equity and justice will reign,” the governor said.
Ahmed prayed Allah to grant the soul of the deceased aljanat fidaous and the family ofAttah the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ecology and Environment, Dr. Bukola Saraki, also a former Governor of Kwara State, said the death of the octogenarian was very sad.
Saraki said: “Though gone, the impact of Alhaji Adamu Attah cannot be underestimated in Kwara politics and apparently, his role and contributions in the administration of Kwara State.
“His departure is painful, but the fact that his wealth of wisdom in the history of Kwara State administration will be missed is more painful.”
