NUJ commends FEDPOFFA.

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) – the umbrella body of practisng professional journalists, Kwara State Chapter, has  commended the Rector,  Federal Polytechnic, Offa (FEDPOFFA), Dr. Mufutau Olatinwo, and other members of the Management for impressive development of both human and infrastructures in the 22-year old Polytechnic. 

The Polytechnic Management was further commended for sustaining respectful relationship with men of the pen profession in the State. 

The 1st Vice Chairman of the Union who also doubles as Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the 2014 Kwara NUJ Press Week, Mallam Ali Muhammad Rabiu, made these comments when he, on behalf of the Chairman, Abiodun Abdulkareem, led other members of the Committee, on courtesy visit to the Polytechnic. 

Mallam Rabiu, while reeling out series of programmes lined-up for the Press Week, expressed appreciation to the Management for always being supportive to the course of the Union. He also congratulated the Rector and other Principal Officers for making history as the team under which the Polytechnic was being aggressively developed to an accepted standard. 

The Rector, in his response, thanked the Union for the invitation extended to Mass Communication students of the Polytechnic to participate in a debate alongside their counterparts from other institutions in the State. The Rector also commended the Union on efforts channeled towards retraining their members on balanced reporting. 

On brief visit to the Polytechnic Library, the Medical Centre and student hostels, Mallam Rabiu stated that the Polytechnic could be upgraded to a University of Technology considering availability of modern facilities in the institution.
