Kwara bars commissioners from talking to press
The Kwara State Government has directed commissioners and other top public officials to obtain clearance before entertaining media enquiries.
The government, in a letter addressed to top public officers, directed them to obtain clearance from the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mr Tunji Moronfoye, before granting interviews.
The letter, dated March 16, and signed by Moronfoye, was addressed to all the commissioners and other government functionaries in the state.
The letter said the order was given by Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.
Moronfoye said as the government’s spokesman, any press interview must be approved by him.
He said the policy was to streamline government activities and guard against misinformation.
