Kwara Government to enforce signage and advertisement agency law
The Kwara State Government has called on corporate bodies, individuals, and all political parties to register and obtain permit from the Kwara State Signage Agency (KWASA) before erecting, constructing, enlarging or modifying any advertisement structures.
The Commissioner for justice and attorney general of the state, Kamaldeen Ajibade made the call during a press briefing held today in Ilorin to sensitize the populace on the enacted law which saddled with supervision of advertisement in Kwara.
According to him, the attention of the state government has been drawn to lot of advertisement and signs, inclusive political signs without compliance with the state structure for signage and advertisement agency law.
While explaining that the law was enacted in 2010, the state attorney general therefore advised owners and operators of existing advertisement structures to regularize such with the agency, saying that the development was not political.
The KWASA General Manager, Olufadi Ahmmed advised Kwarans to obtain advertisement permission from the agency, noting that enforcement will commence on March 7th, 2014.
