Kwara Promises Hitch-Free National U-14 Baseball Championship
Temitayo Abolarin, the Coordinator of the maiden National U-14 Baseball Championship, on Tuesday said that adequate measures would be put in place to ensure a hitch-free competition in Kwara.
Abolarin said in Lagos that the championship was tentatively scheduled for March 1 to March 7 in Ilorin.
``The state is fully prepared to host this U-14 championship; we are doing everything possible for the children to be comfortable throughout their stay.
``The championship has been fixed to hold in the first week of March but the date might be changed if it will affect the school curriculum,'' he said.
The coordinator added that five states - Lagos, Oyo, Abuja, Rivers and the host Kwara would participate in the competition.
Abolarin said that the championship would be sponsored by the state government.
According to him, players and officials at the tournament will be provided with feeding and accommodation during the duration of the competition.
The coordinator added that the organisers had also concluded arrangement with the Nigeria Baseball and Softball Federation (NBSA) to ensure the success of the competition.
Abolarin urged the players to comply with the rules and regulations governing the competition, saying that they would not regret participating in the competition.
